This survey is designed to help ACM measure progress in relation to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in all ACM activities, and also to help us understand how we can best meet the individual needs of our people (i.e. to improve ACM's services, policies and processes). ACM is deeply committed to fostering a scientific community that supports and benefits from the talents of community members from a wide range of backgrounds.

Data that you submit may be used for the purposes of ACM's diversity-related reporting. The results of such reports may be shared internally or externally in an anonymous and aggregated form for at least 50 individuals.

Purposes of ACM

All ACM Members must subscribe to the Purposes of ACM and satisfy membership qualifications.

ACM is dedicated to:
  • Advancing the art, science, engineering, and application of information technology
  • Fostering the open interchange of information to serve both professionals and the public; and
  • Promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.
Membership Qualifications
You must satisfy one of the qualifications below:
  1. Bachelor's Degree (in any subject area); or
  2. Equivalent Level of Education; or
  3. Two years full-time employment in the IT field.

By joining ACM, I agree to abide by ACM's Code of Ethics and ACM's Policy Against Harassment. I acknowledge ACM's Policy Against Harassment at ACM Activities and agree that behavior such as the following will constitute grounds for actions against me:

  • Abusive action directed at an individual, such as threats, intimidation, or bullying
  • Racism, homophobia, or other behavior that discriminates against a group or class of people
